Over the past two years, Freewheel Collective has granted at least 89 bikes. In September 2006, we started collecting signed liability waivers from students that took bikes away from Freewheel.
*If anything, 89 is an underestimate of the number of bikes we’ve granted during this time. For whatever reason, some people have probably slipped through the system, receiving a bike without depositing a waiver.
From 2004-2006, Freewheel granted something in the neighborhood of 130 bicycles, from its shop in Ronkonkoma at the now-defunct Long Island Freespace to its austere beginnings as a club on the Stony Brook Campus.
I’m not sure how many bikes were granted in the Freewheel Huntington era from 2002-2004.
